Product Description:

NAS1638 Level Verification Standard Oil

Particle counter measurement belongs to the emerging edge metrology discipline. Due to the continuous integration of particle counter testing technology with various high-tech, particle counter testing technology has become more mature. In order to ensure the accuracy and reliability of particle counter measurement instruments, timely measurement and traceability of measurement values should be carried out. Many countries generally use standard substances to form the transmission mode of particle counter values, among which oil phase particle standard substances are widely used. In China, oil phase particle standard substances are basically used to implement the transmission of particle counter values. Establish an uninterrupted comparison chain through the use of oil phase particle standard substances and establish a unified quantitative relationship with the measurement standards of the Zui high particle counter.

Material composition:

Particle counter oil phase standard substance is a standard particle suspension prepared with solid particles as the material and clean oil as the carrier. It has stable performance, accurate measurement value and measurement uncertainty, and can be traced back to the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States. The basic composition of oil phase standard substances measured by domestic and foreign particle counters is the same, consisting of a basic carrier liquid and standard dust.

Standard dust:

Standard dust is divided into two types based on particle shape: regular and irregular.

Regular standard dust:

Usually composed of particles with the same or approximately the same particle size, commonly referred to as monodisperse spherical particles, polystyrene or cross-linked polystyrene monodisperse spherical particle powder with a refractive index of about 1.59 is usually used as the standard dust for regular shaped particles. This dust is prepared by chemical methods using an aerosol particle generator, and the circular diameter of the particles is the size of the particles, with a particle size range of 1 μ M-150 μ M.

Irregular standard dust:

Usually, specific natural dust in a certain area is collected, processed and graded through special processes, and mixed with various particles of different sizes. Its chemical composition and particle size distribution are consistent with the main chemical composition and particle size distribution of solid pollution impurities detected in the field of actual particle counters. Irregular standard dust is usually divided into two types: ISO ACFTD (Air Cleaner Fine Test Dust) and ISO MTD (Medium Test Dust). The particle size of these two types of standard dust is defined by the particle length chord and the diameter of the equivalent circular area of the particle projection, respectively.

ISO ACFTD:

It is the abbreviation for fine test dust in air filters, produced in batches by AC spark plugs from General Motors in the United States. ISO ACFTD collects desert sand from specific areas in Arizona, USA, and grades it after ball milling, with a particle size range of 1 μ M-100 μ m. Use a basil analyzer or laser diffraction technique to determine the average volume particle size distribution of each batch. At present, ISO ACFTD dust has stopped production and is gradually withdrawing from the field of particle counter measurement.

ISO MTD:

It is the abbreviation for ISO intermediate test dust, produced by the American powder technology company. ISO MTD is also produced by collecting desert sand from specific areas in Arizona, USA, using a dry jet milling method. The average volume particle size distribution is determined using the electrode discrimination technique of the Kurt multi size analyzer. To distinguish its particle size from ISO ACFTD μ M (c) represents a particle size range of 1 μ M-50 μ M (c). ISO MTD has replaced ISO ACFTD in the field of particle counter metrology.

Application of particle standard substance products in NAS1638 grade oil:

The measurement of oil phase standard substances by particle counters can be used for instrument calibration, evaluation of measurement methods, and assignment of substances. Currently, it is mainly used for automatic liquid particle counter measurement. During the use of liquid automatic particle counters, due to drift and aging of electronic circuits, displacement and wear of optical components, electrical and optical parameters are constantly changing. Therefore, in order to ensure the accuracy and reliability of the test results, it is necessary to calibrate them every six months to one year, and the cycle should not exceed one year. Based on the main performance parameters of liquid automatic particle counters both domestically and internationally, seven measurement items are generally established: size calibration, threshold noise level, sampling volume error, volume measurement coefficient of change, overlap error limit, flow rate limit, and resolution. Particle counters are mainly used to measure oil phase standard substances for size calibration and resolution.

Product specifications:

The standard substances for particles in oil are mainly used for the calibration, measurement, and calibration of oil particle counter analyzers (liquid automatic particle counters, liquid pollution detection instruments). They can also be used for the evaluation and inspection of new testing methods, instrument quality and performance verification, quantity comparison, personnel training and assessment, etc.

The particle standard substance in oil is prepared by using a special process to uniformly suspend ACFTD standard dust in clean hydraulic oil. Between 1-100 μ M has an accurate particle size distribution (uncertainty of 10% (k=2)), strict control measures during the preparation process, stable uniformity, and an effective period of 1 year.
